Oatrageously Awesome Vegan Burger
Food ingredient
- Healthy whole grain burger bun
- Oatsome Quaker rolled oats x 40g
- Plant-based meat mince (or you can use bean mash/potato mash) x 60g
- Carrot X 1
- Lettuce X 1
- Tomato X 1
- Onion X 1
- Cheese X 1 slice
- Optional: any other burger toppings you like e.g bacon, pickles, jalapenos etc
Condiments/Sauces
- 1 teaspoon olive oil (or butter)
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- Optional: any sauces you like! Ketchup, mayonnaise, BBQ sauce etc
Pre-preparation:
1. Chop some carrot and onion into dices
2. Chop the tomato and onion into rings/slices
Prepare for the patty:
1. Heat up frying pan with some olive oil or butter
2. Sautee the carrot, onion dice and rolled oats with salt and soy sauce
3. Cook until the mixture thickens, set aside to cool
4. Mix the plant-based meat mince with the mixture and shape it into a patty (or use bean/potato mash)
5. Again use a bit of oil and fry the patty on each side until it turns golden brown (alternatively, you can bake the patty at 180F for 5-6 min on each side
Prepare for the burger:
1. Toast the burger bun
2. Add sliced tomato, lettuce, patty, onion ring and patty to the burger bun and enjoy!
- Optional: add whatever sauces you like!
