Boba OATS-plosion!
For milk tea:
- 1/2 cup Quaker Instant Oats
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup soy milk
- 6 black tea bags
For Boba (or get ready made ones):
- 1 cup tapioca starch
- 6 cups water
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1. In a medium pot over high heat, combine the water and tea bags. Bring to a boil, let the tea bags steep for up to 3 min and remove it from pot.
2. Combine the oats and milk. Cook at a low simmer for about 5 minutes, until it thickens to your desired consistency.
3. Bring a medium pot of water to boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, add the tapioca pearls and boil until softened, about 20 minutes.
4. Drain the pearls through a strainer.
5. Set the strainer with the pearls over a medium bowl. Add the brown sugar to the strainer and pour the hot water over.
6. Stir to dissolve the brown sugar. Soak the pearls in brown sugar syrup for 30 minutes, then store the bubbles and syrup separately until ready to serve.
7. Assemble the tea with your desired amount of boba.
8. Stir with a wide-opening straw, then serve. Enjoy a guilt-free boba milk tea on a hot day!
